Lotus Safe Sun Daily Multifunction Sunblock SPF 70 PA+++ Review and Comparison Swatches with SPF 90

I had reviewed the Lotus Safe Sun Collagen Shield Sunblock SPF 90 HERE and also explained in details the important parameters of an effective sunscreen,is the need for high spf justified, decoded PA values  etc.(so, am not going to those details in this post again)

Here's a review of the Lotus Safe Sun Daily Multifunction Sunblock SPF 70, PA+++.

I had received a sample sachet of the product on registering with a FaceBook application (of Lotus Herbals). The tiny sachet lasted me for about two weeks!! (will tell you why later).I have finished it now.

What Lotus Herbals Claims about the Safe Sun Daily Multifunction Sunblock SPF 70 PA+++

What I Liked about Lotus Safe Sun Multifunction Sunblock SPF 70 PA+++ -

  • Light weight, oil free, did not make me sweat like a pig!Non sticky, non greasy !
  • Consistency is neither too runny or too thick, gets absorbed fast, gives a moderate matte- dewy look [consistency of SPF 40 is quite runny in comparison to this or the spf 90]
  • Gives a nice soothing cooling effect to skin
  • has a mild fragrance
  • Slightly tinted, but with sheer coverage so evens out skin tone giving a fresh look
  • No irritation or breakouts
  • Has an SPF 70, PA+++, offers both UVA n UVB protection (read detailed explanation HERe
  • Preservative and Paraben free
  • Full ingredient list and shelf life mentioned
  • With carrot and avocado goodness
  • Travel friendly packaging with a flip flop cap
  • easily available

What I didn't Like about Lotus Safe Sun Multifunction Sunblock SPF 70 PA +++ -

  • This has a more paler tint and leaves a whitish film if not properly blended. So, not appropiate for all Indian skin tones.(pics below will help you ) Because of this white cast i used the product in little amount initially, so it lasted me this long !!
  • Price is on the higher side.
Swatch of SPF 70-

Comparison Swatches of Lotus Sunblock SPF 90 and SPF 70-

note that the SPF 90 on the left is more darkly tinted than the SPF 70, which is much paler !

On partial blending,

Lotus Sunblock SPF 90 thus,on complete blending gives me  a more "My skin but better" look than SPF 70

My rating- 3.5/5

Final Verdict- Leaving aside the fuss on SPF value , if I had to choose between the SPF 90 and SPF 70 Sunblocks, i would go for the former. If you feel you have a lighter skin tone (mine being MAC NC 40-41), you can try this at a beach party ! :D

    1. well, they did not advertise as such I think..but surely doesn't do much harm to my skin. But if you are having a acne prone skin with oily background , you may search for the mentions. Overall, i quite liked the product and no it did not block pores or aggravated the problem of black heads !
