Omved Taruni Skin Pack Review

Ubtans (face /body masks made of home made ingredients) has been a girls best friend in terms of beauty regime from very ancient times . It's cheap and effective at the same time !  


But being a lazy bone myself I prefer ready made face packs/masks, as they are less time consuming and most importantly I know I won't mess up with the proportions ! Cause while making the paste I absolutely goof up and result is mostly too runny,which needs some more of the product and then if it becomes to thick, I add more water and it becomes runny again ..the process continues.. got the picture? I tend to waste more than i actually use ! 


Anyways, last month I finished up all my face packs and while I was ordering a few stuffs from Omved ,i wanted to try this one as the ingredients looked tempting and it claimed chemical free!

every 25gms of powder contains -  
Nagarmotha (cyprus rotundus) - 10%
Rose petals (rosa centifolia) - 10%
Bibhitaki fruit (terminalia belerica) - 10%
Natural clay (kaolinum) - 10%
White sandalwood (santalum album) - 5%
Yashtimadhu root (glycyrrhiza glabra) - 5%
Amalaki fruit (emblica officinalis) - 5%
Ashwagandha root (withania somnifera) - 10%
Aloe vera (aloe barbadensis) - 10%
Orange peel (citrus aurantium) - 10%
Lodhra (symplocos racemosa) - 5%
Manjistha (rubia cordifolia) - 5%
Almond powder (prunus domestica) - 5%

Directions of Use- Mix with water,into a paste,apply on clean dry face and neck,leave on untill dry,rinse,moisturise

How I used it?  As mentioned in the directions I mixed the powder with water to form a paste and then apply on my face. But, I found the paste was not smooth enough that way to stay on my face as I roamed about and it badly flaked and dropped everywhere, also it was difficult to apply ! So,next I tried mixing yogurt( another day i tried milk) and it worked fine ! I try to use it twice a week.


What I Liked about Omved Taruni Skin Pack-

• No parabens,  sulfates, silicones,  petrochemicals, glycols, phthalates, synthetic colours or perfumes but only natural ingredients
• The powder when mixed to paste, has a mild grittiness to it,which helps in proper cleansing and exfoliation.not at all harsh to skin.You can skip your regular scrub.
• Skin becomes soft and smooth n radiant instantly
• The pack takes about 15-20 minutes to dry completely.But its not uncomfortably stretching 
• I can't really comment on its effectiveness on wrinkles or fine lines but mild blemishes,tan or post acne spots are much less visible (but I wont attribute all the credit to this product as I am also strictly following CTM regime and using a sunscreen regularly)
• Not so overwhelming mild herbal fragrance

What I didn't like about Omved Taruni Skin Pack-

• You get only 25gms for 120 INR. I have finished mine in last one month
• Available through a few online shopping sites and omved website.They have stores in only Mumbai.
• It would have been better if it came in a tub packaging, the pouch is not a storage friendly option
• I would have been more happy if it came in a readymade paste form :D (clumsy me opinion* )
• I can't comment if its effective on wrinkles and fine lines
• Made up of all natural ingredients, sensitive skin must go for a patch test before

Final Verdict- If you are a fan of home made ,au natural packs/masks you will like it.It delivers what it claims in giving you a thorough cleansing and exfoliation.Also works on mild tanning and blemishes. Am not sure about anti ageing properties. If you are a messy clumsy person and prefer ready made masks you may avoid it and write up to Omved for giving us one !
