Himalaya Neem Foaming Face wash (for normal- oily skin) Review,Swatch

Guest Post by Laxmi

I had super oily skin back in India and I did everything to reduce oiliness in my face. I’ve been a great fan of Himalaya Neem Face Wash since many years..
Few years back, when I came here to Saudi, I felt my face has become less oily. I wanted a milder herbal face wash.

This Neem Foaming Face Wash caught my attraction and now I am a fan for this too. I have used this here and also in India. This is my second bottle.  Earlier it was meant for ALL SKIN TYPES but now they mention FOR NORMAL TO OILY SKIN.

Ingredients of Himalaya Neem Foaming Face Wash:
Key Ingredients: Neem , Turmeric. Complete list of Ingredients is missing both on the website and on the product.

How to use:  Moisten the face and spread the foam gently all over, avoiding the delicate eye area. Wash off and pat dry. For best results also use Purifying Neem Scrub and Purifying Neem Mask.(Read review HERE)

Price:  23SR , approx Rs.299

What the Product claims:
Specially formulated to give you clear, problem-free skin, a soap-free, daily use foaming face wash that spreads smoothly over your face and removes excess oil and impurities without over-drying. Neem, well-known for its purifying and antibacterial properties, kills problem-causing bacteria. Combines with Turmeric, it helps control acne and pimples, leaving your skin, soft clear, refreshed and problem-free.

Packaging:  comes in the form of dispenser with spring.

My take on this Product:

The liquid is green in color but when dispensed, it comes out as foam; so no need to lather. This foam is very light on my face.

Since little amount of liquid is enough for the foam, the bottle lasts me for 2-3 months if used twice daily.

I’ve always had a super clean feeling after using this and never felt stretched except in winters. So I restrict using this only during summers.

My skin remains oil free for at least 3-4 hours.

After continuous usage, I can confidently say that this has reduced my black heads.  But this has nothing to do with my pimples. It didn’t reduce the appearance of pimples nor did it help in subsiding after appearance. I am following Derma’s creams whenever I get pimples. So this is not a major CON for me.

The dispenser is little tough to operate; you need to put some force.. It is not as smooth as SebaMed Cleansing Foam which comes with similar type of packaging.. You would feel the difference if you have used both. The annoying factor is when 3/4th of the bottle gets used up, it becomes highly tough to use the remaining. I need to take the dispenser out from the bottle, pour the liquid in my hands to lather up and then use.

PROS:
Attractive green color
Dispenser and see - through Packaging
Contains Herbal Ingredients
Controls shine
No break outs
Reduced appearance of black heads
Easily available and Trust worthy Brand
Lasts longer

CONS:
Makes skin dry during winters.
Difficult to use the entire bottle with dispenser
Dispenser could have been made smoother to operate
No effect on pimples

Rating: 3.5/5 (-0.5 for tough packaging, -0.5 for drying out in winters,-0.5 for no effect on pimples)

FINAL VERDICT:
I would say this is one of the best face washes for Combination - Oily skin ladies during summers. But however I’d suggest using this in less quantity (or less number of times) during winters.
I don’t think this would suit normal skin ladies.
Though this has some CONS, I continue buying this hoping it will not harm my skin on a long run due to its herbal ingredients.

Thank you Laxmi, for another brilliantly written detailed review ! I always wanted to try this one.the non foaming variety of Himalaya neem face wash is in my Hg list of face washes! ( Read Review HERE )The cool green color and the foamy appearance is visually appealing in sweaty summers :P (at least to me,am always attracted to such fresh colors during summers!). But yes, this can be a bit drying for dry skin beauties specially in winters .
