I had been trying to do a smokey eye look for sometime and the two times i tried i failed miserably and ended up with racoon eyes. Moreover my eyes are bit on the smaller side (sigh! how i wish it was like Bipasha Basu !!) which made it worse!
Few close ups,
What I used-
go dab dab dab with the kajal on your eye lid, upto the crease
Smudge and blend the kajal over your eyelid
It would look like this now,
Now start applying the eye shadows, I went a bit "ulta-fulta" with starting from highlighter :P
So,pick up the lightest shade on the pallete and highlight your brow bone
Blend it upto the inner corner
Take the light brown shade and apply it to the crease and blend blend BLEND!
Take the darkest brown shadow and apply at the centre of your lids and blend
Line your upper lash line thickly with the kajal again and SMUDGE UPWARDS to blend in with the lid colour
But Today afternoon i managed to do it (k..totally amaeteur look) but couldn't wait to share with ou ! :)
A bit Warning - no foundation or concealer, scars n fine hairs r visible (as I did not think of posting this while starting) and i didn't use any greys..still it looks a bit grey :P
| with flash |
| without flash |
and this is an attempt to contour my face n apply a bit blush :P
and if you are getting curious about the lippi..here it is ;-)
- Maybelline colossal kajal /Lotus Kajal
- maybelline chail latte quad
- Faces eye shadow brush
- Vega smudger brush
- Maybelline collosal volume mascara
How to do- ( i skipped the foundation, primer, concealer et all here,so not mentioning)
Line your lower and upper waterline with your favourite kajal
The lower and the upper lash lines, you are at liberty to be clumsy with the upper but try to be precise for the lower.
go dab dab dab with the kajal on your eye lid, upto the crease
It would look like this now,
So,pick up the lightest shade on the pallete and highlight your brow bone
Blend it upto the inner corner
Take the light brown shade and apply it to the crease and blend blend BLEND!
Take the darkest brown shadow and apply at the centre of your lids and blend
Line your upper lash line thickly with the kajal again and SMUDGE UPWARDS to blend in with the lid colour
And you are done !!! :D
I need a nice black e/s and some good blending brushes now..but till then this is decent..Hope you like it
love
its looking superb

Hey Sukanya
ReplyDeleteNice work...
When I tried it for the first time I messed it up too... :D but I am getting a hang of it now... been watching more and more videos..especially makeupgeek's and MissChievous's videos on youtube..These MUA's are super good when it comes to blending..do check them out
and ya I too wish I had Bipasha's eyes... :(
@nivs.. oh ! thnkies :P tbs zindabad ;)
ReplyDelete@dipti,,thnx dear..will watch them..but my lappy being awfully slow a 5min video gets loade in 20 mins :(
ReplyDeleteThis is great..I would have never thought of using Kajal on the whole lid!
ReplyDelete@emm..don hv blck eye shadow..so tried kajal :P
ReplyDeleteThough I own lot of eyeshows iv never went n to try full fledged eye makeup. After watching ur step by step illustration I feel confident.

ReplyDelete@@pooja..thnx dear <3
ReplyDeletegr8 work Sukanya!! very simple but nice mild smokey effect :)
ReplyDelete@anu..thnx.. beshi heavy hole carry korte parbo na..hehe..this works for me :)
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely and pretty!! and using the kajol over the whole lid is actually a good idea because the kajol is slightly sticky and gives the eyeshadow a really good base to stick to so it should last all day! I agree with Nivedita too, your hair is absolutely gorgeous!! I have a real problem with my hair, its very thin so Im already trying different oils and stuff. Do you use anything special on your hair?
ReplyDeleteoops i meant to write always not already lol
ReplyDeleteNice job done sukanya, am impressed with your pics and your effort, I will learn from you and start doing it too! , you have pretty eye by the way!
ReplyDelete@cherry..thanx dear :) actually many ppl swaer by nyx black bean jumbo pencils, which works the same way! a smudge free kajal n non oily lids are comp-atible for this trick.
ReplyDeletefor my hair,am presently using tbs banana shampoo n conditioner read here ---http://fewunnecessarystuff.blogspot.com/2012/01/body-shop-banana-shampoo-review.html
http://fewunnecessarystuff.blogspot.com/2011/12/body-shop-banana-conditioner-review.html
and tbs rain forest hair butter read here---
http://fewunnecessarystuff.blogspot.com/2011/12/body-shop-rainforest-radiance-hair.html
also i swear by a before bath hot oil massage once a week and thats plane old parachute coconut oil n bajaj almond drops/aromamagic hair oil (see my posts at IMBB in the top bar )
hp this helps :)
